Majestus v0.1

In appreciation for classic retro titles such as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Majestus tasks you with exploring ancient ruins from a long forgotten era. As you meet friendly critters, solve puzzles, and defeat bosses, you'll shed light on a history shrouded in ambiguity. I designed this game's engine from the ground up with PyGame. This is the first game that I have ever made!

Credits:

Most borrowed sprites for level design were ripped from ALTTP (plus one tile from Super Metroid). None of the music is mine. Half of the sound effects or original, others were borrowed from The Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid, and Cave Story. Programming was done by myself.

Controls

• To toggle FULLSCREEN, press ESCAPE on the title screen or on the pause screen
• Use the arrow keys for omni-directional movement
• Press ENTER to open the pause menu, where you can select your items
• Press C to equip an elemental attack
• Press X to equip an arrow
• Press Z to get information or use a consumable item like a potion
• Press Z to interact with things
• Press X to shoot arrows
  • On full health, your arrow are super fast!
  • On low health, your arrows become much stronger!
• Press C to use an elemental attack
  • fire -> press C to hit enemies with a quick burst of flames
  • blizzard -> hold C to freeze and deal chip damage
  • thunder -> wait for the energy meter to fill, then press C to deal massive damage to everything around you
  • wind -> hold C to charge up a wind slash the pierces walls and enemies
    • wave beam and plasma beam!
